“I am Dominican. I have a big family but most of them live in the Dominican Republic. Only my sister and nephew live in NY. Working at AHCS I made many friends, gained respect. The most favorite part of my work is when I arrive every day and I see a smile and love on my client’s faces. I would describe AHCS as a people oriented, sympathetic and empathetic agency. I wake up every day with a desire to serve the person I work for, and see the smile of each person every time I come to each house. I improved my English working with clients who do not speak Spanish, it helped me a lot. I am a humble, simple and shy person and usually don’t like to talk about myself. God is the one who gives me strength and energy to continue each day. God and my father, who passed away, continue to influence my life and my work.”
