“I was born in Santo Domingo, the Capital of the Dominican Republic. I had worked there before obtaining my first job here in the U.S as an HHA. Working here as an HHA has been a different experience for me from what I’m used to, which was working in the accounting field. During my time here at AHCS, I have gained not only financial support, but also satisfaction in helping people in need. I would describe the community here as compassionate and dedicated.
The driving force that moves me to work my hardest is my son, but maintaining my work and family balance with them can be difficult. I like to reserve my weekends for family time and keeping things in order.
I would describe myself as a spontaneous and big-hearted person. Whenever I’m having a bad day, I find that keeping a positive mindset and attitude is the best way to deal with difficult situations.”
