Do You Have A Heart For Hospice?
In November 2021, Art Kalenjian, CEO of Advanced Home Care Services, and Nurgul Meimanalieva, Clinical Director of AHCS, attended Hospice Business Boot Camp in Sarasota, Florida.
What is Hospice?
According to Hospice Foundation of America, hospice is:
- Medical care to help someone with a terminal illness live as well as possible for as long as possible, increasing quality of life.
- An interdisciplinary team of professionals who address physical, psychosocial, and spiritual distress focused on both the dying person and their entire family.
- Care that addresses symptom management, coordination of care, communication and decision making, clarification of goals of care, and quality of life.
21st Century Home Care Consultants, the host of the Hospice Boot Camp, provided intensive and rigorous training on all major aspects of hospice start-up business. Their five day live training program will help AHCS to master the essential skills required for success and guide through operational, clinical and financial challenges, allowing the agency to focus on the care and needs of the patients and families.
“The hospice boot camp training was very intense and productive. We enjoyed the professional atmosphere and friendly exchange of opinions during the five day training. The speakers who were invited by Century 21 Home Care Consultants shared their knowledge and experience in all aspects of the hospice business. We left the camp much better prepared to launch our hospice project. We will certainly utilize many tips we have learned as we embark on this journey,” shared Art.
The growth in our geriatric population has significantly raised the need for hospice care and is projected to play an increasingly central role in the near future. The knowledge acquired by our attendees aligns with AHCS company’s business goals and values. This learning experience will be invested into the growth of AHCS to serve the elderly and disabled communities with the best care and compassion.
